The brief
A long ride film with one brutal climb in the middle. They wanted that climb as its own short.
What I did
I opened on the rider’s face, not the hill, then cut to the road once the breathing gets loud. Breath and chain noise carry the sound. Captions only mark the gradient numbers so the picture does the rest. I kept the breathing on the soundtrack and dropped the music under the last switchback.
Result
The short sent around 8,000 viewers to the full ride film.
